Message from the Chief: Embracing Humanity during the Holiday Season - November 9, 2025

Speech by the Chief of the United States entitled: Embracing Humanity This Holiday Season

My fellow Americans and all Citizens of Earth,

As we gather together during this special time of year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the significance of the holiday season. It is a time of joy, gratitude, and connection—a time when we come together to celebrate our shared values and the bonds that unite us as nations and as citizens of this beautiful planet we call home.

The holiday season is a reminder of the spirit of giving, compassion, and understanding. It is a time when we pause to appreciate the blessings in our lives and extend our hands to those in need. As we add festive decorations to our homes and gather around celebration tables filled with love and laughter, let us  remember the deeper meaning behind our national traditions.

The Spirit of Citizenship

Being a citizen is a privilege that comes with great responsibility. Our nations were founded on the principles of justice, security and freedom. These ideals are not just words etched into our histories; they are the guiding principles that shape our actions and decisions.

As citizens in this time of peace, our duty is to uphold the values embedded in our nations, not only for ourselves but for our children.  This means standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves, advocating for justice, and ensuring that every voice has representation and can be heard. It means fostering a sense of security through community and supporting and strengthening our bonds as the nations of Earth.

Our responsibilities as citizens extend beyond our physical borders. As citizens of Earth, we share a common destiny with people from all walks of life, cultures, and backgrounds. We are part of a global community, and our actions have far-reaching consequences. The challenges we face are not confined to one nation but are issues that affect us all.

The Importance of Empathy and Understanding

During this holiday season, let us embrace the spirit of empathy and understanding. Let us remember that every person we encounter has a life, their own struggles, and their own obligations. In a world that is often divided by history, we have a common shared future as members of humanity that unites us.

As we gather with family and friends during the upcoming holidays, lets reach out to those who may new to our nation with assistance in our national form of celebration.  This can make a world of difference to the immigrants in our communities and such empathy by citizens embodies the spirit of the season and our national pride.

Our Shared Responsibilities

As we reflect on our responsibilities as citizens, let us consider the following:

1. Civic Engagement: Participate in the political process. Vote, engage in community discussions, and advocate for policies that reflect our shared values. Our nation thrives when we are active participants, not passive observers.

2. Compassion and Kindness: Extend a helping hand to those in need. Volunteer your time, donate to local charities, and support organizations that uplift our communities.

3. Promoting Inclusivity: Embrace immigration and share your national pride.  Foster inclusivity in each community to strengthen the nation. Celebrate the national cultures found in our nations and respect our differences so that we can build a stronger, more united society focused on a thriving humanity.

5. Global Citizenship: Recognize that we are nation that is part of a global community. Support initiatives that promote peaceful resolutions, education, and economic stability around the world.

As we celebrate this holiday season, I urge each of you to reflect on your role as a citizen—both of the United States and of the world. Let us commit to being active participants in our communities, advocating as custodials of our planet.

Together, we create a future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us carry the spirit of the holidays into the new year, fostering a culture of compassion, understanding, and responsibility.

In closing, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each nation. Thank you for your commitment and dedication to making the nations in our world. As we gather with loved ones this holiday season, remember to be something greater - something better.

May this season bring you joy, peace, and renew your life purpose. Together, embrace, shared memories and work towards a future filled with stability, security and peace.

Happy holidays, and may God bless you all, and may God bless the United States of America and each nation that stands at her side.

Thank you.

Chief of the United States Emmy Ann Horstkamp, SAM, Empress Queen Ann of England and Spain.
